"Johnson & Johnson" begins huge trials of a vaccine for "Corona" from a single dose

The American company Johnson & Johnson began giving doses to up to 60,000 volunteers in experiments aimed at finding a vaccine for "Covid-19", which represents the first large American trial of a vaccination process that may succeed after only one dose.

And Bloomberg News reported that Johnson & Johnson has become the fourth manufacturer of Corona vaccines to move to the final stage of human trials in the United States.

And if the number of those being registered continues as expected, the experiment could yield results by the end of the year, allowing the company to obtain an emergency permit early next year, if it does, and proves effective, according to chief science officer Paul Stoffels.

"Providing a single dose can be a very effective way to combat a pandemic because its effect is faster," he said in an interview.

The company's shares rose 2.3% in New York.

Stoffels said the decision to begin the final phase of the trial was based on data from previous human trials that showed a single dose was safe and stimulated a strong immune response.
