A

Sudanese

delegation

was in Abu Dhabi on Monday, September 21 to meet with American and Emirati emissaries.

According to the American website

Al-Monitor

, on September 21, the

United States

imposed a new precondition for the exit of Sudan from the list of countries supporting terrorism: an official normalization of its relations with Israel.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has asked Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok to call his Israeli counterpart directly to let him know.

During his tour of the Middle East last month, Pompeo

made the same request

and Khartoum's response was “

that a transitional government does not have the prerogative to make such a decision.

 "

There were then two phone calls from Pompeo to Hamdok and the normalization of relations between Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates on one side and Israel on the other.

The Sudanese press evokes a division within the government on this issue.

In addition to removing Sudan from the blacklist, Washington has pledged $ 5 billion in economic aid to Khartoum if the US proposal is accepted.
