China News Service, September 23. According to the Japanese "Chinese Herald" report, from October, the Japanese government's three-stage entry policy for the epidemic will be carried out to the second stage, which is to allow international students to enter.

The government is about to relax entry restrictions starting in October and accept entry for people with medium and long-term visas for more than three months.

This measure does not include tourists.

And in order to prevent the new crown virus, immigrants will be quarantined for two weeks, and the number of immigrants will be limited to "a maximum of 1,000 people per day."

The entry of foreign students can be completely lifted.

The Japanese government is currently issuing the "suspension of crossing voyages" for 159 countries and regions around the world, and it also prohibits entry of foreigners in principle.

As an exception, 16 countries and regions including Asia, where infections are relatively stable, have opened channels for business people.

According to the previous policy of one business, two foreign students and three tourists issued by the Japanese government, the government is now preparing to enter the second phase.

Earlier in May, the government stated that the first stage of accepting entry of business people was to restore the economic recession as soon as possible.

The second phase of relaxation of the entry of foreign students is also to solve the shortage of manpower in convenience stores and other industries.

As for tourists, while stimulating consumption, there is also the risk of expanding the infection again. Therefore, the decision needs to be made from both economic and prevention and control aspects.

Regarding the imminent entry of international students, many international students and Japanese school operators who cannot enter the country due to the epidemic consider it the long-awaited good news.

According to President Bai of Fuji International Language Institute, “I have been very depressed, and finally there is a bit of light.” Since freshmen cannot enter the country, the school insists on teaching students in April and July through online courses, and assists them. International students who have already been in Japan have entered schools and jobs in response to the epidemic.

In 2019, there were 310,000 international students entering Japan, including more than 110,000 Chinese students.

In 2020, no self-financed international students entered the country due to the epidemic.

With the increase in the number of people entering the country from October, Japan has strengthened the medical inspection conditions at various local airports including New Chitose, Chubu, and Fukuoka.
