Many wear masks or T-shirts bearing the effigy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Some even have the famous judge's collar around their necks.

In the midst of the anonymous crowd, personalities like Bernie Sanders and Chuck Shumer came to pay their last respects to RBG.

was an incredible woman.

She never gave up and neither are we going to give up,

”says the leader of the Democratic minority in the Senate.

Impossible to approach the coffin, placed at the top of the steps of the Supreme Court.

The crowd marches silently at the foot of the imposing staircase.

“

I feel inspired, sad and afraid at the same time,

” says Jennifer, who came with her daughter.

I'm afraid of what will happen on the abortion, on all the progress that women have known because of her, but at the same time, I remember the hardships she has overcome and I want to follow her example.

All those who come here express their concerns about his legacy and castigate the Republicans who have decided to

appoint his replacement as soon as possible

.

“

Our country is going through a dark phase in its history,

” said John, before adding: “

With a third judge appointed by Donald Trump, this court will not represent the Americans.
