Chinanews.com, September 23. According to New Zealand Tianwei.com, New Zealand Minister of Education Chris Hipkins announced that children who meet certain conditions and hold visitor visas can enroll in New Zealand as local students.

On September 23, local time, the Immigration Bureau issued relevant rules.

The Immigration Bureau stated that the policy applies to both school-age children and adults, and visa holders can take additional courses for no more than 6 months.

School-age children with visitor visas, if their visas are valid until September 11, 2020, can apply for the Term 1 course of the next academic year, even if the student has already participated in the Term 4 course of the previous year.

If you meet the Ministry of Education's definition of a local student, you may not pay international student fees.

If you want to study courses for more than six months, you must apply for a student visa or modify the current visa conditions.

This policy does not apply to visitor visas issued after September 11, 2020.

The Immigration Department said it will notify eligible visitor visa holders.
