The man was sentenced in July in Jönköping District Court to three years in prison for aggravated vandalism, aggravated illegal threats, aggravated use of means of subsistence and more.

But in the Court of Appeal's ruling that was handed down on Wednesday, he will have his sentence reduced to two years and three months in prison.

It was one night in late April that the man entered a farm outside Habo and stole a wheel loader.

He drove at high speed from the farm and was then close to driving on the farm owner.

The man then continued his journey towards central Habo.

There he overturned a car and then the wheel loader was driven into a residential building and garage.

After the vehicle got stuck in the garage, the man ran from the scene and entered a residential building where he threatened the resident with a knife and demanded to get the keys to a car.

Stopped after a car chase

The police were able to follow the man and stopped him after a short car chase.

The man has admitted the deeds.

He has stated that he was under the influence of drugs and that his focus had been on getting a better car.

Jönköping District Court sentenced the man to eleven of the twelve crimes he was charged with.

The Court of Appeal comes to the same conclusion.

These include serious illegal threats, serious use of means of subsistence, illegal driving, and serious drunk driving.

Below, residents tell about the dramatic night.
