Covid19, Hope: "Get vaccinated against the flu. Antigenic tests even outside airports"

23 September 2020 Fofi, Federfarma and Assofarm express concern that in the context of the examination in the Chamber of Deputies of the motions on the flu vaccine, the opportunity was not taken to recognize the "role of the pharmacy as a health center in the area, where it is possible to administer the vaccine in order to ensure adequate health protection for citizens, thus contradicting what was previously expressed in unanimously approved Agenda ".
"The administration of the vaccine in pharmacies is now a consolidated practice - say the pharmacist federations - in 14 European countries, including France and Germany, as well as in the United States, Canada and dozens of other countries, always with widely positive results in terms of safeguarding public health and increasing vaccination coverage, an objective repeatedly desired by the Government itself ".
For these reasons, Fofi, Federfarma and Assofarm trust that the Government can allow the administration of the flu vaccine in pharmacies by the doctor or pharmacist in ways to be agreed, as part of the measures aimed at dealing with Covid-19 and, in particular , to reduce the risk of overlapping symptoms of Covid with those of seasonal flu.
"Do not forget that the over 65,000 community pharmacists and over 19,000 pharmacies in the area represent the first garrison for capillarity and accessibility - they explain - a network that was fundamental in the most critical phases of the emergency linked to the coronavirus: on this occasion, in fact, the pharmacists took it upon themselves to provide all possible assistance, also overcoming the difficulties of the health system ".
The three Federations ask for an urgent meeting with the Minister of Health to definitively acquire the dicastery's orientation on this matter, also in light of the positions expressed on the merits by the Lazio Region, by authoritative scientific institutions and by Cittadinanzattiva.
