The maximum height under the viaduct is 3.6 meters, something that is communicated through signs on both sides.

Despite this, trucks have got stuck on several occasions in recent years, which has had a major impact on both car and train traffic in Eskilstuna.

Last year, the Liberals came up with a motion to build a height barrier that prevents trucks from driving under the viaduct.

The city building administration then did not think it was needed and the proposal was therefore voted down.

But now the administration has changed, and the issue is being taken up for decision again.

On one side first

According to the new opinion, an obstacle will be built a bit in front of the bridge in a southerly direction - this is where most trucks come from.

After that, the administration will investigate whether a northbound direction is also needed.

The municipal board is expected to make a decision on the issue at its meeting on 6 October.

In the video above, the administrator Petter Skarin explains why the administration has changed its mind.
