The president of the National Rally visited a refuge for mutilated horses in Yonne on Monday.

For her, this is a topic that should be the subject of a debate "without excess" by bringing together all the players concerned around the table.

REPORTAGE

This is one of the subjects on which she has decided to bet for this return: Monday, Marine Le Pen went to Yonne to visit a refuge for recently mutilated horses.

While emotion and anger are still high among breeders and owners of equines, the president of the National Gathering expressed her determination to gather around the theme of animal protection in view of the next elections.

Disregard "partisan labels"

In the enclosure of the Ranch de l'Espoir in Villefranche-Saint-Phal, Marine Le Pen strokes Biscotte, a pony with a long scar on its side.

Alongside the owner, himself injured in the arm, the leader of the RN expresses her "compassion" towards those who face this wave of mutilations: "I know the anguish that grips them, I know the suffering that is theirs, as well as that of their animals which are mutilated ", she assures.

"I also know that the public authorities are doing what is necessary to try to put an end to this terror which strikes, which hurts and which shocks."

Marine Le Pen goes around the refuge and is moved by the animals.

But behind this visit, the political message is as clear as it is unusual for the member for Pas-de-Calais, usually quicker to underline what differentiates the RN from other political parties: "It is really one of the subjects that could allow, beyond all the partisan labels, to sit around a table to discuss it ", she affirms.

"The RN is always ready to work with other movements. We are the least sectarian party that exists, but the reverse is not always true."

Not a new subject at the RN

The leader of the far-right party wants to engage in this discussion "without excess" with all the actors: veterinarians, associations, farmers and hunters ... By emphasizing the very consensual subject of animal protection, which she had already wanted to do a national priority during the 2017 presidential campaign, Marine Le Pen hopes to relaunch her mixed comeback.
