He explained that the high level of sugar in the blood leads to an increase in the incidence of lung infections in Covid-19 patients.

Al-Hammadi explained that there are a set of factors that make diabetics more vulnerable to complications, including: low immunity, which means the inability to fight the virus and the possibility of exposure to infections that harm vital body systems.

Al-Hammadi said that there is no evidence that diabetes drugs are linked to complications of Covid-19 disease, but there is already evidence that stopping the use of drugs and insulin and high levels of diabetes in the blood may cause serious complications in the body, advising diabetics to take double caution to protect themselves from infection.

Al-Hammadi called on everyone to benefit and learn from previous experiences in the history of epidemics and pandemics, which have proven that individual commitment is the most important factor in containing infection and reducing harm, and without it, hardship increases and the effects of the crisis are multiplied.

Al-Hammadi answered a set of frequently asked questions, where he defined the incubation period of the virus as the time it takes from entering the body until the appearance of symptoms, explaining that the incubation period for Covid-19 is two to 14 days, and therefore the period during which it is recommended to monitor the pathological symptoms of those coming from travel or Close contact with confirmed cases of Covid-19 disease lasts for two weeks, to make sure that the person is completely free of the virus.

Al-Hammadi explained that the emergence of symptoms often begins within four to five days after the occurrence of infection, but many patients may not feel symptoms in the first days of infection, and some may discover that they are infected with the virus through routine examination, which explains the surprise of some of the infected when they know that they are Are infected with the virus.

Al-Hammadi said that the emergence of symptoms may be delayed in the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases, calling for caution and great care when dealing with these groups when diagnosing Covid-19 disease.

Al-Hammadi noted that infection may occur even without the appearance of symptoms, indicating that the rate of infection is high for those who suffer from symptoms and signs of disease.

Al-Hammadi stressed the need to adhere to wearing the muzzle even without feeling satisfactory symptoms in order to reduce the spread of infection to others during the silent incubation period of the virus.

On a question about the reason for focusing in particular on social gatherings and events and linking them to the increase in the number of new infections with the new Corona virus, Al Hammadi stressed that the focus was not on homes or family gatherings, but rather applies to all gatherings and events, whether in homes, restaurants or shops, as everyone must adhere to the procedures Precaution, stressing that everyone has a personal responsibility to prevent and avoid infection and spread infection, whether at home or when going to public places such as restaurants and malls.

Al-Hammadi noted the importance of individuals' awareness and following instructions and directions, which include avoiding gathering places, applying physical distancing, wearing a muzzle, and cooperating with the competent authorities by reporting violators.

In the end, Al-Hammadi warned that some social habits contribute to the transmission of infection, such as shaking hands, allowing home visits, and laxity in following preventive measures under the pretext that no satisfactory symptoms appear, although scientific studies have shown that not complaining about symptoms does not mean not being infected, explaining that these factors explain The reasons for the outbreak of the virus among members of the same family who live in the same house, or the outbreak of the virus among a large group of people residing in one closed place.
