Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, an electric vehicle company in the US, announced that it will increase the number of battery purchases from current battery customers, such as LG Chem.
Musk posted a post on his Twitter account on the 21st, a day ahead of the'Battery Day' event that unveils new technologies, saying, "We intend to increase the amount of battery purchases from partners such as Panasonic, LG, and CATL without reducing it."
He did not hide his intention to develop his own battery, saying, "Even if battery suppliers are at the maximum speed, a significant shortage is expected after 2022."
Musk also introduced that during Battery Day, important content that will affect the long-term production of electric trucks'semi','cyber truck' and'roadster' will be revealed.
