Trump, Erdogan, Xi, Putin, Rohani, Macron ... In the midst of the global crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their voices, expected Tuesday September 22 on the first day of the UN General Assembly, will not resonate in the vast United Nations complex in New York, but they will still express themselves via interposed screens.

After an introduction by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will speak first, as is customary, followed by Donald Trump.

Thematic summits (Covid-19, climate, Lebanon, Libya, biodiversity ...), also virtual, are planned in the coming weeks on the sidelines of the Assembly.

The speeches of the 193 members will be linked for a week, featuring the leaders of the planet: the Chinese Xi Jinping in front of a mural of the Great Wall, others in presidential parks or palaces, while some will favor the sobriety brightened up by the flag of their country.
