Neither a state of alarm for the Community of Madrid nor more restrictive measures in the city.

That is the scenario that this Tuesday the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, and the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martinez-Almeida, have drawn for the capital.

But both the councilor and the head of Health have asked Madrilenians for "caution" and have recommended that they "restrict their mobility as much as possible."

"I think not. We have to see how it evolves."

With that brief response in an interview on Cadena Ser, the Minister of Health directly ruled out that Madrid had to ask for a new state of alarm in the face of the increase in coronavirus infections.

That is precisely where Illa has put the focus: "We must stop the increase in cases."

And for this, the head of the department has indicated that there should be "a reinforcement in primary care" to "avoid the collapse of hospitals" because, as noted, both spaces begin to suffer "pressure" with the number of admissions.

"What we are experiencing now has nothing to do with March. Now we diagnose more. The problem is if measures are not taken and we are taking them," Illa pointed out.

Restrictive measures that affect 37 basic health areas in the region, among which are 26 in the city of Madrid.

Some areas that the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has denied that they are going to increase for the moment.

"This is not the news I have," he also assured Cadena Ser this Tuesday after the meeting held yesterday afternoon with the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
