  • The PS deputy of Mayenne Guillaume Garot announced Tuesday his candidacy "to lead the list of the left and the ecologists" in the regional elections.

  • He says he wants to "bring a new social and ecological spring of Pays-de-la-Loire around a collective and determined momentum".

The PS deputy for Mayenne and former Minister Delegate for Agri-food Guillaume Garot announced Tuesday his candidacy "to lead the list of the left and environmentalists" in regional elections in Pays-de-la-Loire.

Guillaume Garot indicated that he was a candidate "because I am convinced that I can bring together the left and the ecologists to win in March" and "because, in the crisis we are going through, you need experience of responsibilities both at the level local than national ”.

It is the former minister of Jean-Marc Ayrault

"I want to bring a new social and ecological spring of Pays-de-la-Loire around a collective and determined momentum", declared the former minister of Jean-Marc Ayrault from 2012 to 2014. The departmental councilor of Mayenne sent back to back "a regional right which never ceases to oppose each other" and a "presidential majority which has forgotten the country's justice expectations", presenting himself as the "candidate for appeasement and renewal ”.

The Pays-de-la-Loire region, chaired by the socialist Jacques Auxiette from 2004 to 2015, was won by Bruno Retailleau (LR) in the last elections.

The president of the LR group in the Senate has since given way to Christelle Mor Anglais (LR).

Make the region "the first French region against food waste"

Describing himself as "someone open, capable of working with people who do not necessarily think like me", Guillaume Garot wants "to build the gathering very early on".

“Why wait until the evening of the first round?

“Asks the former mayor of Laval (2008-2012).

If he is chosen by the Socialist members on October 8, he intends to make Pays-de-la-Loire "the first French region against food waste" and the region "of low carbon priority".

It also proposes to "train rather than dismiss", as well as a large school support plan and health centers with salaried doctors.
