"Scientists draw attention to the fact that in connection with the seasonal decrease in average daily temperatures in the third decade of September, an increase in the number of man-made fires and explosions of household gas is predicted by 5-7% in the Vologda, Kostroma, Tver, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions," the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.

The increase in fires is possible due to gross violations of fire safety rules during the use of heating systems and installations, stove heating, power grid overloads, as well as "the usual carelessness of citizens," they added.

Earlier it was reported about two victims of a gas explosion in a residential five-story building in Tyumen.

Prosecutors are investigating the incident.
