22 September 2020In Germany in the last 24 hours there have been 1,821 new cases of coronavirus infection and ten deaths due to Covid-19, for a total of 274,158 infected and 9,396 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

This was announced by the Robert Koch Institut.

The most affected regions are North Rhine Westphalia and Bavaria.



Over a million total cases in Central and Eastern Europe


Central-Eastern European countries have recorded more than one million confirmed cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic.

This was revealed by the data collected by the World Health Organization for the week between 14 and 20 September.

Another 89,060 new coronavirus cases (+ 26.3% compared to last week) and 1,295 new deaths (+ 21.2%) were reported by the Balkan and Central-Eastern European countries to the WHO in the week until 20 September , bringing the total of cases since the outbreak in the region to 1,040,033, while deaths have risen to 28,511. Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Hungary in particular recorded a significant increase in new infections last week.

Kiev observed 21,343 new infections compared to 18,441 the week before, Czechia 12,905 against 7,649, Hungary 6,165 against 3,933. According to WHO data, the Central-Eastern European countries that have registered more new cases in the last seven days are states Ukraine (18,441), Czechia (12,905), Germany (11,897), Romania (9,164) and Hungary (6,165).

The highest number of cases since the beginning of the epidemic was recorded in Germany (271,415), followed by Ukraine (175,678), Romania (111,550), Poland (78,330), Belarus (75,461), Czechia (48,306), Moldova (46,336) and Austria (37,948).



Montenegro remains the country in the region with the highest total cases per million inhabitants (12,919 against 4,905 in Italy), followed by Moldova (11,486), Kosovo (8,041), Belarus (7,986), North Macedonia (7,947), Bosnia -Herzegovina (7,587), Romania (5,799) and Serbia (4,716), while the lowest rate is currently recorded in Latvia (803).

The countries in the region that recorded the most new deaths in the last week were Ukraine (379), Romania (275), Poland (100), Moldova (83), Bosnia and Herzegovina (63) and Hungary (50). Central-Eastern Europe as a whole, the nations with the most total deaths since the beginning of the epidemic are Germany (9,386), Romania (4,402), Ukraine (3,557), Poland (2,282), Moldova (1,201), Belarus (776), Austria (765 ), Bulgaria (755), Bosnia and Herzegovina (746) and Serbia (740).

Now North Macedonia is the country in the area with the highest deaths per million inhabitants (331 against 590 in Italy), followed by Kosovo (325), Moldova (298), Romania (229), Bosnia- Herzegovina (227) and Montenegro (213), while the lowest ratio was recorded in Slovakia (7).



A total of 25,8991 cases and 8,805 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic have been confirmed up to 20 September August in Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania) .
