Alerted, the firefighters managed to limit the damage in the building but the laundry was badly damaged.

Four days after the fire, the place remains closed, of course, to the dismay of its regulars.

“But why did they do that.

It makes no sense ?

“, Ask two young men.

This Tuesday, the Rennes public prosecutor, Philippe Astruc, announced that a man was in police custody.

Because the criminal origin of the incident is beyond doubt.

According to some witnesses, a fire was lit in a garbage can outside the laundromat.

This bin would then have been thrown in the middle of the washing machines, currently out of use.

It was the owner of a neighboring bistro who alerted the firefighters and rang the intercoms of the inhabitants of the building to tell them to evacuate.

The fire did not cause any injuries, the laundry was empty at the time of the tragedy.
