The pensioners

Nine out of ten pensioners get more money in their wallets with the new budget investments.

Among other things, the tax on pension income is further reduced.

For a person who has a pension income of SEK 21,000 a month, this means a tax reduction of SEK 800 per year.

A pension supplement of a maximum of SEK 600 per month is also paid to people with an income-based general old-age pension of between SEK 9,000 and 17,000 per month.

The income recipients

The income tax is reduced for more than seven million people, primarily for low- and middle-income earners but also for pensioners and people with social insurance benefits.

From 1 January 2021, the tax will be reduced by up to SEK 1,500 per year.

The highest amount is given to those who have an earned income of SEK 240,000 per year.

The families

From 1 June 2021, the single parent will receive increased maintenance support.

For children under the age of 15, the support is increased by SEK 100 per month and for children over the age of 15, it is increased by SEK 150.

Anyone who needs help assembling a piece of furniture or transporting laundry can soon take advantage of the extended window deduction, whose ceiling is raised from SEK 50,000 to SEK 75,000 per year and includes more services than before.

The environmentally conscious

A tax deduction for green technology is introduced of a maximum of SEK 50,000 per year.

This includes, for example, costs for installing solar cells and charging products for electric vehicles.

Anyone who buys an environmental car can receive up to SEK 70,000 in compensation, 10,000 more than before.

At the same time, the limit for how much a car can emit to be able to take advantage of the bonus is lowered, from 70 to 60 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer.

The young people

To make it easier for young people to enter the labor market, the employer's contribution is reduced by about a third, from 31.42 per cent to 19.76 per cent, for employers with employees aged 19-23.

The reduction applies temporarily from 1 April 2021 to 1 April 2023.

The unemployed

The more generous unemployment insurance fund will remain for another two years.

At most, a person can receive SEK 510 a day, compared with the previous SEK 365, which means just over SEK 11,000 a month.
