- It was a very gloomy press conference earlier in the day when the government's scientific advisers presented the forecast for what it might look like if people do not change their routines.

Tomorrow, they expect some form of new restrictions, says Katrine Marcal, journalist based in the UK in SVT's Aktuellt.

However, a total closure of the country is not to be expected in the first place.

- The British economy is one of the more difficult in Europe to implement a shutdown in. In the spring, British growth fell almost twice as much as German, despite a similar line against the pandemic.

But because the British economy is so much more dependent on shops and restaurants, it hit the country harder, says Katrine Marcal.

Crowds of more than six people were banned just over a week ago in the country.

- One does not expect new closures of the schools either, they have just reopened.

But there will be some kind of restriction, says Katrine Marcal.

"Closed the country too late"

The Swedish strategy has at times been heavily criticized, but the British population has not been as harsh on those in power on the question of whether the strategy is right or wrong.

- There is perhaps not as much as in Sweden a tiredness of the strategy that Johnson and his government have pursued.

The criticism that has been leveled at Boris Johnson has been that the country was shut down too late and that was why they were hit so hard, says Katrine Marcal.

- It seems that this is exactly the criticism that the government is trying to prevent by being out and warning quite early.

Now Boris Johnson wants to show that he is fast on the ball, she continues.
