In several social media posts, Alexei Navalny has reported on his recovery from the dramatic poisoning.
On Saturday, he published a picture of him walking up a flight of stairs and at the same time praised the doctors at the Charité Hospital in Berlin where he has been treated.
But in the latest update from the opposition leader, he turns to his life partner.
There he pays tribute to his wife Julia and writes that her love brought new life to him:
"Not for a second do I doubt that this has a scientific explanation. I heard my wife's voice, my brain secreted dopamine, it made me feel better. Each visit literally became therapeutic, and the effect of anticipation generated more dopamine. But no matter how cool it sounds with a scientific and medical explanation, I now know for sure from my own experience: love heals and brings life again. Julia, you saved me, let it be in textbooks on neurobiology! ”
Navalny also writes that he and Julia celebrated their 20th anniversary as married while in a coma, but that he is almost happy that he missed it because, according to his own statement, he knows more about love now than a month ago.
