Emmanuel Macron's popularity increased slightly in September, rising to 38% of positive opinions on his action, against 36% in August, according to an Ifop poll for the

Sunday Journal.

The rate of dissatisfaction with the action of the President of the Republic drops by one point, from 63% to 62%, according to the same study.

The popularity of Emmanuel Macron at this stage of his term at the Elysee Palace exceeds by 15 points that of his predecessor François Hollande (23%) after the same period in power, and by six points that of Nicolas Sarkozy (32%) in the same conditions.

Emmanuel Macron is progressing among the supporters of La France insoumise (+8) and of the National Rally (+3).

"There is a bit of a logic of national union," said Frédéric Dabi, deputy director general of Ifop, in the columns of the weekly.

The rate of respondents satisfied with the action of Prime Minister Jean Castex has eroded by three points, from 48% in August to 45% in September.

The percentage of dissatisfied people remains stable at 46%.

Survey conducted by online questionnaire from September 11 to 19 with a sample of 1,906 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over, according to the quota method.
