From our special correspondent in Bamako,

Two days is the time left for the junta in power in

Mali

to appoint a civilian president and prime minister and review the transitional charter.

It is indeed this Tuesday that expires

the ultimatum set by the ECOWAS

(Economic Community of West African States).

The soldiers have therefore

intensified their consultations in recent days

, in particular with the M5-RFP movement.

Last weekend, the coalition which led the protest against ex-president IBK rejected the junta's proposals but after another meeting on Saturday evening, the tone was rather positive.

On the M5 side, we are sure that the discussions are moving in the right direction.

After the cold that followed the consultations last weekend, the opposition coalition and the junta have resumed dialogue.

On Saturday, the meeting was held in a small committee.

This time, it was a question of rereading together the charter of the transition and discussing the points which still pose problems: "

They listened to us and we must meet again today to make sure that our amendments will be effectively taken into account

" , explains a participant from the M5 side.

We are studying their requests,

" says one on the side of the junta.

A college to appoint the new president of the transition

At the same time, the soldiers are working on the establishment of the college which must be formed to appoint the new president of the transition.

The meetings took place until two in the morning and continue this Sunday.

According to our information, this committee should be composed of members of the National Committee for the Salvation of the People (CNSP), the junta, representatives of the main unions, civil society and the M5 in a concern of "

inclusiveness

 ", says- we.

How will this college work?

How soon will he appoint the leaders of the transition?

Who will have the last word ?

All this is still under discussion this Sunday.

Saturday, in any case, the M5 did not hide that in his eyes, time is running out.

We told them that it is absolutely necessary that the new teams can get down to work by next Wednesday at the latest

," a source told M5, the day after the celebrations for the sixtieth anniversary of Mali's independence.
