- We are positively surprised even though there have been big losses when it comes to visitors to the museums this summer.

However, there is a big difference between the museums around the country, says Jeanette Gustafsdotter, Secretary General of Sweden's museums, in a press release.

The number of visitors has been better outside the big cities, according to a report from Sweden's museums.

It is mainly domestic tourists who have made the visits.

Some have increased

Both municipal museums and open-air museums have been attractive places to visit with an average of 62 per cent during the period June-August, compared with that period last year.

On Gotland, visits land at 23 percent and in Östergötland 58 percent of last year's visits.

Old Linköping notes 70 and 75 percent visits in June and August and an

in the number of visitors during July this year.

Norrköping City Museum had only 23 percent visits in June but 86 percent in July and 52 percent in August.

The Motor Museum in Motala respond in an email that they lost over 50 percent in sales in June, 15 percent in August but increased 10 percent in July.
