17 new deaths due to "Corona" in Tunisia

Yesterday, the Tunisian Ministry of Health announced 17 new deaths from the emerging corona virus, along with 625 new infections, which is the highest daily toll in Tunisia since the beginning of the outbreak.

This update relates to the analyzes conducted on the 17th of this month, bringing the total number of injured, since last March, to 9,736, in addition to 155 deaths.

According to the ministry, 170 people infected with the virus are hospitalized in the country, compared to 55 in recovery rooms, and Tunisia is witnessing an accelerating increase day after day in the number of infections, in light of fears that the capacity of public hospitals will exceed the number of patients.

The Tunisian Ministry of Health counted, the day before yesterday, 540 new cases of the Coronavirus, as part of the tests conducted on the 16th of this month, so that the number of HIV infections for the first time exceeded the 500 threshold in one day, at a time when the spread of the virus accelerated in most parts of the country.

The number of patients with symptoms is 916, and public health institutions care for 170 patients, while the number of patients in intensive care departments is currently 55 confirmed cases, and 18 patients with "Covid-19" are undergoing artificial respiration.

Since the border was opened on 27 June, Tunisia has recorded 7,827 confirmed local cases, 613 imported cases, and 1,237 people have recovered.

The governorate of Tunis accounts for the largest number of new infections with the Coronavirus, amounting to 1520, followed by the state of Ben Arous, which recorded 1183 cases, then the state of Gabes, 1114 cases.
