During the weekend, the Swedish championship for northern Swedish working horses has been arranged at Hannäs Hästcenter outside Kil.

- Today it has been dressage riding with a carriage.

This morning there have been nine crews involved, says Ellen Norrby who is involved in arranging the championship.

She has gone from Gotland together with her four year old stallion Tick thank you and of course they also take the opportunity to compete against the Värmland opposition.

How good are the Värmlands who compete here today?

- I would say that they are very good, says Ellen and laughs.

Yesterday we had equestrian dressage and there we had, for example, Tova Jonsson from Storfors who came third.

Tova Jansson participated for the first time as a driver - with the horse Lukas.

"Fun to learn from a good horse"

Tova Jonsson is a young, promising and experienced rider.

But this weekend was the first time she competed as a driver.

The horse in the team, Lukas, contributed with his routine and experience.

- He has competed in the Swedish Championships and the World Cup before so he is very good.

It is fun for me who is such a beginner in the actual driving, to learn from such a good horse, says Tova.

Second year with the Swedish Championships

This is the second year that the Swedish Championships for North Swedish working horses are arranged.

During the weekend there will be 36 starts in the disciplines riding-dressage and jumping, sports driving-dressage and precision.

- It is so fun to show the versatility of northern Sweden and how willing it is to work.

It has a very nice appearance, so when you bring a North Swede, people see one.

I think that is very fun, says Ellen Norrby and gets ready for Saturday afternoon's continued driving.
