On Friday, the US military announced the strengthening of its military deployment in northeastern Syria, despite previous efforts to limit its presence there, in a move that comes after the tension between US and Russian forces in the region.

Command spokesman Colonel Bill Urban said in a statement to reporters that Sentinel radar and Bradley armored combat vehicles were sent to support the American forces in the Syrian security zone and to increase the sorties over these forces.

Orban added that these reinforcements aim to "help ensure the safety and security of the coalition forces," and that the United States "does not seek to clash with any other country in Syria, but will defend the coalition forces if necessary."

NBC News has quoted 3 Pentagon officials as saying that Washington will deploy a small number of US forces in Syria, to dissuade the Russian army from crossing into the eastern security zone, where US forces, coalition forces and the SDF are stationed.

A statement issued by the International Coalition stated that these vehicles will be used by American soldiers, and that they will provide the ability to move freely for the coalition forces in the region.

US forces in Syria

: Last October, US President Donald Trump ordered the withdrawal of Bradley's armored vehicles from Syria, as part of his attempt in early 2019 to withdraw all his forces from there, before returning and agreeing to leave hundreds of American soldiers to protect oil wells.

Some incidents in recent weeks in northeastern Syria have pitted the US military against the Russian forces now deployed on the border with Turkey under an agreement with Ankara.

At the end of August 7 American soldiers were wounded in a collision with Russian combat vehicles.

Videos posted on Twitter showed Russian armored vehicles and helicopters trying to prevent American vehicles from advancing, then force them out of the area.
