The new rules will apply for just over two weeks, but several restaurateurs believe that it will last longer than that.

- When they shut us down in March, they said it would be for two weeks.

They say that now too, but everyone doubts that it will only be two weeks.

This spring it was three months, says Carl Wrangel who is also a restaurateur in Copenhagen.

In March, the restaurants and restaurants were closed for just over three months and they then received various financial compensations from the state after losing income.

The restaurateurs say that it is clear that they will lose a lot of income now again and this time they will not receive any compensation.

- We have lost 50 to 70 percent in sales during these days since the new restrictions came into force, Wrangel says.

Denmark hit harder than ever

The restrictions come after the spread of infection in Denmark since the beginning of September.

Therefore, some restaurant visitors think that the measures are necessary.

- I think it is important to control the pandemic, so I do not think it is such a big deal, says restaurant visitor Elvira Martos.

Prabhu Gopalakrishnan adds that it is very early to close already at 22 because that is when they usually go out.

- They started by closing at midnight.

But it did not help much, so I still understand the government's decision.

The restaurateurs: "We are punished more severely"

The restaurateurs themselves think that it could have been solved in a different way and believe that they are punished much more severely than other industries.

- In this case, it would have been better to close the restaurants and give us compensation, because in this way we can still be a cause of the virus spread, says Dennis Vansant.
