He was relieved of his operational duties, and an internal investigation is launched against him.

This man is one of the police officers in charge of the security of the head of the British diplomacy, Dominic Raab.

And his fault?

He left his loaded gun on an airplane on his return from a trip to the United States, British press and police said.

The pistol, a Glock 19 semi-automatic, was discovered by a maintenance worker, in its holster, on a seat of a US airline United Airlines aircraft, after landing at London Airport on Friday. 'Heathrow, The Sun tabloid reported.

Not a first

"We are aware of the incident in a flight to the UK on Friday, September 18, and we are taking this matter very seriously," said a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police.

Minister Dominic Raab had traveled to Washington to try to allay the concerns of his American partner related to Brexit.

This episode is not a first across the Channel, since in February, it was the police officer responsible for the protection of former Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron who forgot his pistol and the passport of the former Conservative Prime Minister in an airplane toilet, causing panic.
