This is stated in a statement on the ministry's website.
"Since September 20, the following activities have been banned: any provision of services for the distribution or maintenance (operation) of WeChat and TikTok applications through an online application store in the United States," it said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to discuss the TikTok deal with co-founder and Oracle chairman of the board Larry Alison.
