U.S. Department of Commerce TikTok and other Chinese company development apps prohibited from distribution from 20th September 18 22:02

The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced that it will ban the distribution and updates of apps "Tiktok" and "WeChat" developed by Chinese companies in the United States from the 20th of this month.

It is in line with the executive order signed by President Trump last month.

"We will take important steps to combat China's malicious collection of personal data of Americans," Secretary of Commerce Ross said in a statement.

Among them, regarding "TikTok", software giant Oracle has created an agreement with a Chinese company to become a technical partner for protecting personal information, and the US authorities are continuing to examine it.
