18 September 2020The nineteenth and third last stage of the Tour de France (Bourg en Bresse-Champagnole of 166.5 km) ends up in the pedals of Soren Kragh Andersen, who thus conquers his second personal success in this 107 edition of the Grande Boucle.

Its length is great in the final part of the track, a rough path but without any particular roughness, perfect scenery for the faraway escapes that will not be missing.

Behind the Dane, 53 ”behind, the Slovenian Mezgec, and the Belgians Stuyven, Van Avermaet and Naesen.

Tenth an excellent Matteo Trentin.

All unchanged in the overall standings: between the Roglic yellow jersey and the triumph on the Champs Elysées, only tomorrow's time trial remains, the Lure-La Planche des Belles, 36.2 km.

But the Slovenian still has a leg and a good advantage over compatriot Pogacar and Miguel Angel Lopez: an earthquake 'seems' difficult to predict.

Just over a hundred kilometers of breakaway at full speed for the Frenchman Remi Cavagna who immediately flies over the many ups and downs of the stage (a few plains), alone tames the only gpm of the day (Cote de Chateau-Chalon, fourth category) but then he begins to inexorably decrease the rpm, caught back at -50.

From there on to a series of attacks, with groups that are formed and shelled.

It is then a small platoon of 12 riders to break away and take the lead, among them the green jersey Sam Bennett, Peter Sagan, Van Avermaet and our Matteo Trentin.

The decisive, splendid action, however, was signed by the Danish Kragh Andersen who said goodbye to -15 and never let go of his grip right under the finish line, passed without opponents behind him.

The Dane repeats the success of Lyon last 12 September.
