It was at the end of August that two people died, including a five-year-old girl, in a frontal collision between two cars near Slättåkra in Halmstad municipality.

The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 50s, was assigned early suspicion of, among other things, aggravated drunk driving and causing another person's death.

Counterfeit driver's license

The police have now, among other things, established that the man's driving license was forged.

- His driver's license did not look so good, so we checked with his home country and quite rightly he has not issued a driver's license there.

Now he is suspected of using a false document, something he also admits, says the police's preliminary investigation leader Andreas Gabrielsson.

Denies certain criminal suspicions

The driver also admits illegal driving and aggravated drunk driving, but denies the criminal suspicions of gross negligence and causing another person's death.

According to Andreas Gabrielsson, the man is affected by what has happened.

He has never been detained when the prosecutor did not judge that it was needed, as the man has a permanent address, Swedish social security number and a permanent job in Sweden.

He has also, according to the police, been cooperative by answering the phone and appearing for questioning.

Now the police will carry out a digital reconstruction of how the accident happened.
