The region has recently seen a number of cases where people tested themselves for ongoing covid-19, but continued with their everyday life as usual instead of staying at home waiting for test results.

- When the test answer then came, it turned out to be positive.

By doing so, these people expose others to risk and the infection can be passed on, says Signar Mäkitalo, infection control doctor in Sörmland, in a statement on the region's website.

- But to test yourself for ongoing covid and then live as usual is not acceptable. If you test for covid, you should have symptoms and stay at home. If the result is then negative, you can count on only having a common cold and act on it, he says.
