The latest data show that the rate of serious injuries caused by attacks on prison staff in New York City prison staff has increased sharply, setting a new high in five years.

According to a report released by the New York City Administration on Thursday (17th), the rate of serious injuries suffered by prison staff this year has jumped by an average of 65% per month, compared with 49% in 2019.

The same statistics were only 20% in 2016, 24% in 2017, and 42% in 2018.

At the same time, data released by the FBI earlier (15th) showed that although rape and robbery and other violent criminal activities have decreased, the murder rate in the United States has soared in the first half of 2020.

The FBI's "Preliminary Uniform Crime Report" shows that nationwide, the murder rate has increased by 14.8%. Among cities with a population of 250,000 to 500,000, the murder rate has increased the most, reaching 26%.

The arson rate has risen by about 19%, and in cities with a population of more than 1 million, the arson rate has risen by 52%.
