  Talking about the situation of Chinese female peacekeepers, Luo Wei said that China firmly supports the UN’s "Women, Peace and Security" agenda and has also taken concrete actions to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325.

He said that the female soldier who was awarded the honorary certificate is called Xin Yuan, a major officer. She was assigned to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon last October as the senior demining staff officer of the Combat Engineering Agency of the Headquarters and is the only UNIFIL force. The female staff officer in charge of mine clearance operations.

  Luo Wei further stated that Xin Yuan's main job is to undertake mine clearance plan formulation, supervise and manage troops' mine clearance operations.

After arriving in the mission area, the first task she received was to organize and implement a humanitarian mine clearance mission.

In order to complete this task with a high standard, Major Xin Yuan took great risks and went deep into the minefield with the mine-sweeping squad. He personally grasped the first-hand situation and worked out a thorough clearance plan, which was finally completed 34 days in advance. A total of more than 1,500 square meters of demining fields were cleared for a total of minesweeping tasks.
