18 September 2020 "Milan and Bergamo together to host the G20 Health of 2021": this is the proposal of the mayors of Bergamo Giorgio Gori and Milan Beppe Sala, to host the global summit dedicated to health.
"Our cities - explain the Mayors of the two Lombard capitals - are ready to welcome the global summit dedicated to health, which will be held in Italy next year, as announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen."
"Expertise, knowledge, research, experimentation, but also proactive volunteer networks that allow us to be close to the needs of the most fragile citizens. It is on these foundations that the proposal of Milan and Bergamo, two international cities, at the forefront of numerous areas, not

pharmaceuticals and life sciences.
"Europe needs a unified direction, also on the health front.
This requires experience, know-how and solidarity.
And above all it is necessary to launch health policies capable of protecting all citizens of the European Union, both to face the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and to define new protocols to be activated in each EU country in the event of future health emergencies. and to manage critical issues and daily life.
The pandemic has deeply tested our territory and our citizens, but it has not undermined the values on which our communities are founded.
It is those values that push us today to propose and support Milan and Bergamo with determination to host the G20 Health.
A summit that has a profound symbolic meaning for us and an opportunity that we are sure our cities will be able to honor at best.
