Random checks on board have not been carried out since the end of March, and the motivation for the decision is that there has been a risk that inspectors have been able to contribute to the spread of covid-19 in public transport.

But from next week, tickets on board will be checked again, and during the autumn it is expected that there will be even more inspectors.

From 80 to 100 pieces.

What does this mean for the safety of passengers on board?

-

We will test this together with the travelers and adapt to how crowded it is so that we can continue to keep our distance.

The important thing is that there will be more checks now, because we see that travel is increasing but that ticket sales are not keeping up, says Maria Björner Brauer, unit manager for sales and marketing at Västtrafik.

How will the inspectors be distributed in the county?

-

At present, we have open boarding everywhere in the region because the front doors of the buses are closed.

We are still starting to check more in Gothenburg because travel is greatest there, but will gradually check more outside Gothenburg as well, says Maria Björner Brauer.
