The Foreign Ministry noted that PACE and the Council of Europe do not have the authority to create an "international body to investigate" violations in Belarus.

The ministry added that they evaluate the statement of the PACE committee as an attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus.

“We cannot agree with the biased assessments contained in the statement.

We regard it as an attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, which, moreover, is not a member of the Strasbourg organization, ”the statement says.

Earlier, the Belarusian side stated that Minsk is not against the participation of the Council of Europe in the discussion of reforms in Belarus.

On September 8, it became known that Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who ran for the presidency of Belarus, appealed to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to exert international pressure on the Belarusian authorities.
