According to him, the resolution "by and large was prepared in a hurry" and is called "On the situation in Russia: the poisoning of Alexei Navalny."

“The name itself even predetermines that everything is clear for them, for those who voted for her, that there was a fact of poisoning, that, judging by the direction of the resolution, the Russian authorities are responsible for this,” Chizhov said.

At the same time, he noted that in the resolution "all the circumstances that took place around this whole story are not particularly taken into account."

“What they were preparing hastily, they even confused Omsk and Tomsk,” said the permanent representative.

He also said that the Russian side will find how to respond if the EU imposes sanctions against Russia because of the situation with Navalny.

“The experience of trying to impose similar sanctions against Russia, as it was in 2014, clearly shows that Russia always answers and knows how to respond and how to respond," Chizhov said.

Earlier, the European Parliament adopted a resolution urging to find and freeze the European assets of those involved in Alexei Navalny's investigations.
