An investigation for murder and non-assistance to a person in danger was opened Thursday by the prosecutor of Thonon-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie) after the discovery of the body of a man in front of a parking lot in Archamps, we have learned from the prosecution.

The body of the victim, aged about 30, was reported by a passerby around 7:30 a.m.

She found it in front of the parking lot of a cinema in the town, said the prosecution, confirming information from France Bleu Pays de Savoie.

"The findings made on the spot by the forensic pathologist and the first investigations led the prosecution to open an investigation for murder and non-assistance to a person in danger", said the prosecutor of the Republic of Thonon-les-Bains Bruno Badré.

The young man, whose remains were "devoid of identity papers and telephone", has so far not been identified.

The investigation was entrusted to the research section of Chambéry.
