His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met at the end of his visit at the head of the country's delegation to the US capital Washington, and the signing of the historic peace treaty between the UAE and the State of Israel, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and a number of leaders and members of the US Congress.

In his meeting with the US Secretary of State and Congressional leaders, His Highness focused on ways to enhance the UAE-Israeli peace treaty for regional peace and stability by stopping the annexation processes and contributing to creating new positive energy for change throughout the Middle East region.

They also discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and the United States, stressing a common commitment to cooperate within the efforts made to combat the spread of the new Corona virus, as well as strengthening peace and security in the Arab Gulf region, confronting extremism and deterring threats to regional stability.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan gave a briefing attended by senior members of Congress, including Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican - South Carolina), Senator Todd Young (Republican - New Jersey), Senator Ben Cardin (Democratic - Maryland), and Senator Bot Menendez (Democratic - New Jersey) Representative Adam Smith (Democrat - Washington State), Armed Forces Committee Chairman.

His Highness expressed his thanks and gratitude to the members of Congress for their great efforts and support for the peace treaty between the UAE and the State of Israel, stressing the UAE's long-term and continuous commitment to the Palestinian people.

His Highness also stressed the importance of the decades-old Emirati-American partnership, which he described as one of the most important strategic Emirati relations, noting that the UAE has been the largest market for exporting American goods and services for more than a decade in the Middle East.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, and the country's ambassador to the United States, Yusef Maneh Al-Otaiba.

The meeting between His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Mike Pompeo, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Youssef Maneh Al Otaiba, Commissioner of Customs and President of the Federal Customs Authority Ali Saeed Al Niyadi also participated in the meeting.
