The organization A non smoking generation is on tour around Sweden and for two days lectures will be held for high school students in Eskilstuna.

The theme is how the tobacco industry affects the planet, including through littering.

They also mention that child labor occurs in connection with the cultivation of tobacco plants in different parts of the world.

- The young generation that is growing up now makes it a different product compared to before and they are also marketed very strongly to this target group, says Sonia Hammi, lecturer at A non smoking generation.

"Nicotine remains"

One of the products that has increased in sales in recent years is snus in white packaging.

According to A non smoking generation, the tobacco industry today markets snus as "tobacco-free" to circumvent the tobacco law.

- They have chosen to remove the tobacco leaves from the product, but the nicotine in it still comes from the tobacco plant, says the lecturer Josefin Airas.

The tobacco company does not agree

The tobacco industry, however, does not agree with the image that A non smoking generation paints around marketing.

- We market this product as "nicotine portions" and we absolutely do not market to people under 18, says Erik Pauldin at British American tobacco in Sweden.
