Russia sells 100 million doses of the Corona vaccine to India

The Russian sovereign wealth fund said today, Wednesday, that it agreed to supply 100 million doses of the "Sputnik-V" vaccine to counter the emerging corona virus, the Indian drug company, "Dr. Reddy Laboratories."

The deal comes after the Russian Direct Investment Fund reached agreements with Indian companies to produce 300 million doses of the vaccine in India, which is a major consumer of Russian oil and weapons.

The fund added in a statement that Dr. Reddy, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in India, will undertake the third phase of clinical trials of the vaccine in India pending approval by regulators.

He added that the supply to India may start in late 2020.
