Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al Sarraj on Wednesday (September 16) announced in a televised address his willingness to step down from office by the end of October.

Fayez al Sarraj heads the Libyan Government of National Accord (GEN), which sits in Tripoli and whose legitimacy is recognized by the international community, but contested by Marshal Haftar and his Libyan National Army (LNA), who seek to take Tripoli since spring 2019.
