The Professional Football League (LFP) announced on Wednesday that it was opening an investigation into racist remarks allegedly made by Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez towards Paris star striker SG Neymar, who was suspended for two matches closes, plus a suspended sentence.

Regarding the accusations of racism, "the certainties are not sufficient to summon the players", declared the chairman of the disciplinary commission Sébastien Deneux adding that the instruction would consist of a more in-depth analysis of the images of the exchanges between the Spaniard and the Brazilian.
The aim will be to establish "what was actually said, what was actually heard," continued the official, insisting that his committee only pronounced "on objective, tangible elements".
Asked whether this investigation would also concern homophobic remarks likely to have been made by Neymar, Sébastien Deneux replied: "This evening, we were seized with possible racist remarks from Alvaro. We must speak with the greater caution. The investigation will reveal whether there are other facts likely to lead to disciplinary consequences. "
Among the other players who took part in the fight, Parisian defender Layvin Kurzawa received the longest suspension with six matches, for his kick to Marseillais Jordan Amavi who will be away from the field for three matches.
PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes and his Argentinian OM compatriot Dario Benedetto were respectively suspended for three matches, two of which were closed and one closed.
