India: justice bans overtly anti-Muslim TV show

In India, the Supreme Court has just banned the broadcast of an openly anti-Muslim program tolerated by the government.
The judges are taking this exceptional and rare step as the Indian media takes on an increasingly aggressive tone towards this religious minority, which represents around 15% of the population.

He thus announces an alleged investigation of ten episodes of the cable news channel Sudarshan TV.
The appeals court had already suspended it before the first broadcast, upon seeing the trailer, but the Hindu nationalist government then authorized it, refusing to censor

It is finally the Supreme Court which puts an end to it, after the broadcast of four episodes.
The judges condemned, with rare firmness, this anti-Muslim approach, which would violate respect for the religious diversity dear to India.
This kind of abuse and hate speech are more and more common, according to senior magistrates, because of the frantic race for audiences waged between the hundreds of private news channels.
