On September 16 of each year, Iraqis painfully recall the massacre of "Nisour Square" in the center of the capital, Baghdad, which took place in 2007, when elements of the American Blackwater Company opened fire on civilian passers-by, killing 17 people and wounding 20 others, including children and students.

This incident is one of the prominent massacres that occurred after the US invasion of Iraq, and it was not lost on the memory of the Iraqis.

And after many of those affected filed a case against Blackwater, the US judiciary, after years of trial, sentenced one of the convicted persons to life imprisonment, and 30 years imprisonment after being convicted of killing civilians in the Nisour Square incident.

And last year, the American judiciary announced that reduced sentences were imposed on 3 members of the Blackwater company.
