UAE signs the historic peace treaty with Israel

Yesterday, the United Arab Emirates signed the historic peace treaty with the State of Israel.

Abdullah bin Zayed:

"Peace needs courage, creating the future needs knowledge, and the fruits of the treaty will be reflected in the whole region."

Donald Trump:

"We are here to change the course of history .. We are taking a historic step, thanks to these three countries, for the sake of peace and prosperity."

Benjamin Netanyahu:

"Peace can end the Arab-Israeli conflict forever ... and this day is a pillar in history."

Abdul Latif Al-Zayani:

"Today is a truly historic occasion, a moment of hope, and an opportunity for all peoples of the Middle East."

The treaty was signed on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and on the side of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Kingdom of Bahrain also signed the declaration of support for peace with the State of Israel, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, signed the declaration.

This historic event, which took place on the South Lawn of the White House, in the presence of US President Donald Trump, witnessed about 700 guests from around the world.

In his speech during the signing ceremony of the treaty, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that peace needs courage, making the future needs knowledge, and the advancement of nations needs sincerity and perseverance.

His Highness said: "We came today to tell the world that this is our approach ... and peace is our principle ... and whoever had his beginnings right, his achievements will be bright."

During the signing ceremony, His Highness conveyed to US President Donald Trump and the Israeli Prime Minister the greetings of the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates, and in particular His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

His Highness said that the search for peace is a genuine principle, but the principles are actually realized when they are transformed into actions.

His Highness added: “Here we are today witnessing an act that will change the face of the Middle East and raise hope around the world.

"This initiative would not have been possible without the efforts of US President Donald Trump and his team, who tried hard and sincerely to get us here."

His Highness added: “We are witnessing today a new thought that will create a better path for the Middle East region. This peace treaty, which is a historic achievement for the United States of America, the State of Israel and the United Arab Emirates, will not stop its positive impact. Rather, we believe that its fruits will be reflected in the entire region. "Any option other than peace will mean devastation, poverty and human suffering."

His Highness said, "The UAE believes that the role of the United States of America in the Middle East region is positive, and the evidence for this treaty that we sign today at the White House, and which you have led, will remain in human history a beacon of light for all peace lovers."

His Highness concluded by saying, “Peace needs courage, creating the future needs knowledge, and the advancement of nations requires sincerity and perseverance.

We have come today to tell the world that this is our approach, and peace is our principle, and whoever had his beginnings is right, his achievements will be bright. ”

For his part, Trump said, in his speech to a large number of White House officials: "We are here to change the course of history ... We are taking a historic step thanks to these three countries, in order to promote peace and prosperity."

He explained that Israel, the UAE and Bahrain will exchange embassies and "will cooperate closely together, and coordinate their efforts in many sectors, such as tourism, trade, health care and security."

He pointed out that this step "will open the door for Muslims from around the world to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque and Israel."

For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister said that peace "will expand to include other Arab countries, so that after that, it is possible to end the Arab-Israeli conflict forever."

Netanyahu also noted that "the great economic benefits of our partnership can be felt throughout the region, and will reach all our citizens."

And he considered that "the blessings of the peace that we are making today will be great, first because this peace will expand to include other Arab countries, and then after that it could end the Arab-Israeli conflict forever."

The Israeli Prime Minister stressed that this peace "is not a peace between leaders only, but between the Israeli, Emirati and Bahraini peoples, as they will embrace each other, and we will cooperate in various fields, and in the fight against (Corona), and we will find solutions to many of the problems facing our region."

He added, "This day is a pillar in history and a new dawn of peace dawns on it .. For years and decades the Jewish people have prayed for peace .. Therefore, we value this day."

Netanyahu thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, saying: “I thank you for your wise leadership and your work with the United States and Israel to expand the circle of peace.”

He also thanked the Bahraini monarch, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Latif Al-Zayani.

For his part, the Bahraini Foreign Minister said: "Today is a truly historic occasion, a moment of hope and opportunity for all the peoples of the Middle East."

Abdul Latif Al-Zayani called for "a just, comprehensive and lasting solution, with the establishment of two states," between Israel and Palestine.
