China News Agency, Geneva, September 15th. The 45th session of the UN Human Rights Council is being held in Geneva. From the 14th to the 15th, the meeting held an interactive dialogue on the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic on human rights.

At the meeting, the Chinese representative called on all countries to put people's lives and health first and jointly oppose the politicization of public health issues.

The representative of China stated that the current new crown pneumonia epidemic is still spreading around the world, posing a huge threat to people's lives and health, and bringing arduous challenges to countries in protecting people's rights to life and health and other human rights.

The epidemic has also exacerbated racial discrimination and social inequality. Discrimination and stigmatization attacks against minorities are not uncommon.

The representative of China stated that governments of all countries should put people’s lives and health first, adopt effective prevention and control measures, resolutely curb the spread of the epidemic, minimize the impact of the epidemic on the economy and society, guarantee the basic lives of the people, and protect the rights of vulnerable groups.

Relevant countries should immediately lift unilateral sanctions against developing countries.

All parties should jointly oppose stigma and politicization of public health issues.

The parties concerned should abandon the wrong practices of inciting racial discrimination and xenophobia and deliberately creating division and confrontation.

The representative of China stated that in the face of the sudden and severe epidemic, the Chinese government insisted that the people are supreme and life is supreme. After hard work, the battle against the epidemic has achieved major strategic results.

China has also actively participated in international anti-epidemic cooperation, and under the circumstances that its own epidemic prevention and control is facing great pressure, it will do its best to provide assistance to the international community and work with all parties to promote the construction of a human health community.

China has sent 34 medical expert teams to 32 countries, provided 283 batches of anti-epidemic assistance to 150 countries and 4 international organizations, and provided and exported anti-epidemic materials to more than 200 countries and regions, which strongly supported global epidemic prevention and control.

China is willing to continue to work with all parties to help each other in the same boat and watch to help each other to overcome the epidemic as soon as possible and protect the well-being of people of all countries.
