It reports the magazine ComputerSweden.

Following SVT's review, Region Skåne and the Västra Götaland region terminated their collaboration with Vårdinnovation, which is the company behind the tool Vårdexpressen.

But now, instead, Region Dalarna has signed an agreement with the company Vårdinnovation.

According to ComputerSweden, Vårdexpressen will first be pilot tested at six health centers and then introduced at other health centers in Dalarna.

Criticism from the medical profession

The system has been marketed as an AI tool where patients can fill in their problems on a screen.

The care staff then receives help with suggestions for diagnosis and treatment.

SVT also reported that several doctors were critical of the tool and that there were question marks surrounding the scientific basis on which the system was based.

Criminal investigation is ongoing

Region Skåne also appointed an external investigation carried out by the consulting firm Pwc.

Pwc's report concluded that there were suspicions of irregularities in the procurement and recommended that the region make a police report, which Region Skåne also did.

On 22 June, prosecutors at the National Unit against Corruption began a preliminary investigation into suspected bribery in Region Skåne.

SVT has sought Dalarna's regional director Karin Stikå Mjöberg.
